With Days of our Lives' Chad on the search for Abigail, some of her family returns to Salem.

Chad DiMera is ready to take Clyde Weston's word for it and now believes Days of our Lives' Abigail may really be alive out there. He just needs to find her. Before talking to Clyde at the Salem Police Station, Chad wasn't sure if he should say anything to Abigail's parents yet, but it might be time.

According to SheKnows Soaps, Matthew Ashford will be back in Salem next week as Abigail's dad, Jack Deveraux, just as Chad and Julie decide to search for Abigail. Will Jack's presence cause Chad to spill the big news, or does he keep it close to the vest for now? And what brings Jack to town?

In April, news broke that Ashford was back on the DAYS set to tape scenes for the late Bill Hayes's memorial episodes, which will coincide with his longtime character Doug Williams' death. However, those scenes won't air until December, so clearly, Ashford was back before them for this new big storyline.

Soap Opera Digest reports that another Deveraux is also returning to the Salem scene, as Casey Moss makes his comeback as Jack and Jennifer's son, J.J. Deveraux. He was spotted on set, but there is no word on how long he will be sticking around or when he will begin airing. Melissa Reeves is also set to return to your DAYS screens, but not until the memorial episodes later this year. The character was last played by soap vet Cady McClain.

Ashford began playing Jack in 1987 and has been on and off the soap ever since. We last saw him in 2023 when he and Jennifer chose to leave Salem following Jennifer's pill addiction relapse while she grieved her daughter. Moss played J.J. on and off from 2013 to 2020 when the character moved to Africa after the death of his grandfather Bill Horton.

Are you excited to see Jack and J.J. again on DAYS? Would you like Abigail to be found alive? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
