Passions
January 3, 2005
This week, our columnist takes a special look back at the best and the worst that Passions had to offer in 2004.
Liza Huber
January 10, 2005
Last week, Gwen finally snapped and tried her best to kill Theresa. In an almost catatonic state, Gwen fully admitted her guilt and showed her displeasure at learning that Theresa wasn't dead.
Lindsay Hartley
January 17, 2005
Never has someone deserved the rotten things that have happened to them more than Theresa. If she had shown just a bit more compassion toward Gwen, she would probably be walking around right now.
Eric Martsolf
January 24, 2005
Who is Ethan really in love with? He wants Theresa to drop the charges for Gwen, yet he can't seem to pull himself away from Theresa. He's constantly trying to lay the blame at Rebecca's feet, but the bottom line is that he refuses to take some of the blame himself.
Liza Huber
January 31, 2005
Gwen is going further off of the deep end. She keeps imagining a life with all of her children and Ethan, but none of her fantasies include E.M. Gwen never really wanted E.M. as anything other than a means to hurt Theresa, and that has sealed her fate.
Galen Gering
February 7, 2005
Why doesn't someone just haul off and slap the hell out of Luis? Last week, when Pilar begged him to let Martin speak, instead of respecting the mother he's so upset his father betrayed, he jumped right back into his same old routine of what a loser Martin is.
Brook Kerr
February 14, 2005
Whitney has to be the most annoying character on television. Her secret is tearing her apart, yet she doesn't seem to be very eager to come clean. Instead, she takes every opportunity to yell at her mother about the fact that Eve lied to her and ruined her life.
Liza Huber
February 21, 2005
Why does everything lead back to murder with Gwen and Theresa? They are both going around spouting off about killing each other. Enough with the violence already.
Justin Hartley
February 28, 2005
Last week, Whitney admitted that she is still in love with Chad, and then Fox proposed to her. Instead of letting Whit go and stew in her own mess, Chad jumped in the middle and forbade the marriage.
Eva Tamargo
March 7, 2005
Luis has done nothing but demand that Sheridan leave her mother alone, right on top of demanding that Pilar leave Martin alone as well. It would be great to see Pilar get fed up and tell all of her kids what selfish, spoiled brats they are.
James Hyde
March 14, 2005
Last week, thanks to the aftermath of Jessica's rape, the Bennett clan was actually interesting. Sam's rage and anger were totally justifiable; he has always been a loving dad, and now that one of his babies has been hurt, he wants revenge.
Justin Hartley
March 21, 2005
Why isn't Fox a cop? Last week, he quickly outsmarted Alistair and found a lead on Gwen and baby Jane. All the while, all Ethan can do is assure Theresa that their daughter will be found.
Brook Kerr
March 28, 2005
Last week, Whitney went into labor. Why is it that no one can seem to give birth in the hospital?
John Reilly
April 4, 2005
Alistair received a lot of airtime last week. From doing the push-push with Edna to kidnapping little Marty, it was good to see him out and about. However, it's unlikely that he and Beth will be able to kill Sheridan. How many times have they tried and failed?
Galen Gering
April 11, 2005
Luis needs to be slapped. He is ticked off because the rest of the Lo-Fitz clan has agreed to try to be a family again, and since he's busy hating Martin, he's not too happy about it. Last week, Pilar basically told him to take it or leave it.
Eric Martsolf
April 18, 2005
Last week, Ethan finally made the decision to stand by his vows and stay with Gwen. However, he added the stipulation that the fighting between Gwen and Theresa must cease, which basically means that there will be no show left to watch.
Justin Hartley
April 25, 2005
Last week, Fox found out that Whitney gave her baby up for adoption. He went from shock to denial to anger in a matter of minutes. His anger was totally justified, and nit Whit deserved everything that was thrown at her and more.
McKenzie Westmore
May 2, 2005
What is it going to take for Sheridan to wake up and smell the coffee? Why does Luis continue to doubt Sheridan, when he knows that Beth was acting weird about him being near the basement?
John Reilly
May 9, 2005
It's no big shocker that Beth is Alistair's daughter; it's been alluded to for months now. The real shocker was Sheridan and Beth's catfight.
Lindsay Hartley
May 16, 2005
Theresa deserves everything that she has coming to her, simply because she won't open her eyes and see the truth. She keeps yammering on about Ethan not taking Jane away and hurting her because he loves her, despite the fact that he has filed for custody.
Eric Martsolf
May 23, 2005
How can Theresa possibly think that Ethan loves her after he has taken yet another child away from her? Now that her children are gone, they all of a sudden are Theresa's whole life. She's never worried about her children until they aren't there for her anymore.
Passions
May 30, 2005
Viewers have been subjected to the same old storylines since day one. It is time for something new and fresh to occur. Triangles need to be shaken up, more secrets need to come out, and new interactions need to start happening.
McKenzie Westmore
June 6, 2005
The Luis/Sheridan/Beth scenario has gone on for far too long. Perhaps it is time for Sheridan to finally get her son and start a new life with a new man.
Eric Martsolf
June 13, 2005
Last week, Ethan finally admitted his true feelings to Theresa, and fans got a huge payoff...or did they? As Whitney pointed out, Ethan gave Theresa everything that she has ever wanted, and then he snatched it back away from her.
Juliet Mills
June 20, 2005
Last week, Gwen and Rebecca managed to elude Ethan, while Tabitha set Theresa hot on the trail of the person who really revealed Ethan's paternity. It's great to see that Tabitha is back to her trouble-making self.
Brook Kerr
June 27, 2005
It took much slapping, cajoling, niceness, and even a little brutality, but Whitney finally did the right thing and nursed her child last week. However, maybe she shouldn't have; after all, she had been drinking all night.
Lindsay Hartley
July 4, 2005
Theresa knows that she is dealing with underhanded characters, but instead of trying to outwit them, she repeatedly falls into their traps. You'd think that she would have learned her lesson by now; after all, she's had seven years of learning.
John Reilly
July 11, 2005
Theresa got a little chummy with Alistair last week. It seems that he is willing to help her destroy Gwen and Rebecca, if she'll hop in the sack with him. Before it's all said and done, Theresa will probably do it, because she only cares about winning.
Galen Gering
July 18, 2005
Luis didn't trust Sheridan, and now Marty is gone. However, instead of bemoaning the fact that he's lost his son forever, Luis was more worried about losing Sheridan. He's worse than Martin ever was; at least Martin had his family's best interests at heart.
McKenzie Westmore
July 25, 2005
It looks like Luis and Sheridan are finished, at least for now. Last week, he left to find Beth and Marty, and Sheridan decided that she doesn't want to be Alistair's doormat anymore. It's about time that she started to stand up for herself.
Liza Huber
August 1, 2005
How stupid is Gwen? Rebecca can see straight through Ethan, as can Alistair, but even though everyone keeps telling Gwen the truth, she refuses to believe that Ethan doesn't love her.
Passions
August 8, 2005
Overall, the tsunami storyline has been pretty good. Some surprising revelations are coming to light, and new stories are unfolding as a result.
Brook Kerr
August 15, 2005
Whitney has decided, quite comically, to become a nun...as if that will erase all of her sins, or keep her from wanting Chad, or make the storyline watchable again.
Justin Hartley
August 22, 2005
Last week, Fox really handed it to Whitney. Never has such a spoiled, selfish brat deserved a verbal lashing so much. Fox held nothing back, and all of his hurt and anger came across beautifully. Now, Fox is free and clear to pursue Kay.
McKenzie Westmore
August 29, 2005
Sheridan just inches closer to a mental breakdown every single day. She had to realize that she would have to give Mark/James back at some point. It is amazing that she couldn't go on with her life without Marty, and now she just focuses on Mark/James.

Hot on the heels of a natural disaster in Harmony, a devastating natural disaster has occurred in the real world, and our columnist experienced it firsthand.
Passions

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, our columnist takes a break from the events in the fictional town of Harmony to focus on some important matters in the real world.

There was not a new column this week, so instead, please enjoy a look back at what was happening in Harmony in 2002, during the month of December.
John Reilly
September 26, 2005
Last week, Noah and Fancy were foolish enough to have sex on a public beach, and Alistair watched the whole thing. Now, he wants to kill Fancy, because Noah is beneath her...sound familiar?
Tracey Ross
October 3, 2005
Why is Eve's decision to choose between Julian and T.C. so difficult? She should just take a page out of Ethan's book; marry the person whom you don't really love, then secretly carry on with your true love until they marry your worst enemy.
Lindsay Hartley
October 10, 2005
Last week, Theresa became Mrs. Alistair Crane. Theresa paints her own sordid portrait as a gold digger; she pursued Ethan relentlessly, slept with both Julian and Fox, and is now married to Alistair.
Galen Gering
October 17, 2005
You have to feel sorry for the Lo-Fitz family. First, Martin took off with another woman, and then Antonio took off for parts unknown, only to come back and die. Theresa has married two Crane men. Miguel left to find Charity. And now Luis is dead.
Justin Hartley
October 24, 2005
Why is Kay using trickery and magic to help Fox? Didn't she learn her lesson when she used it to get Miguel, whom she hasn't seen in a year? Couldn't they just fall in love and be happy like most normal couples? Some normalcy on this show is not a lot to ask.
Passions
October 31, 2005
There was not a new column this week, so instead, please enjoy a look back at what was happening in Harmony during the week of November 1, 2004.
Rodney Van Johnson
November 7, 2005
T.C. has officially taken over Ethan's position as the biggest idiot on the show. T.C. is expected to be hardheaded and stubborn, but you'd think that having a daughter who is a lesbian would be preferable to one who was sleeping with her brother.
Lindsay Hartley
November 14, 2005
Last week, Theresa found a way to get to Ethan. Is that really a shocker? Theresa and Gwen are in a hospital together, and there are bedpans, so Theresa might want to be careful.
John Reilly
November 21, 2005
It is Ethan's decision not to live in a vegetative state, and Gwen, as his wife, has to respect that. Alistair, shockingly enough, sided with Gwen last week, so Theresa is out for his blood, especially after he reminded her that the situation is her fault.
Liza Huber
November 28, 2005
Is Gwen ever going to pull the plug on Ethan, or is she just going to keep fighting with Theresa each week? Gwen finally signed the papers last week, but how much longer will it take before Ethan actually dies?
Ben Masters
December 5, 2005
The scenes with Ethan and his family last week were touching. Julian's scenes were especially great, as he struggled with the prospect of losing the son he never really had. Of course, Rebecca just had to show up and ruin it with her snobby attitude.
Eric Martsolf
December 12, 2005
Theresa has managed to trump herself yet again. Last week, she kidnapped Ethan, and practically the whole town wants her head. This fantasy that she has of Ethan coming out of the coma and wanting to make love to her is absurd.
Lindsay Hartley
December 19, 2005
If you're ever in a coma, Noah and Theresa are probably the last people in the world you would want to rely on to save you. Last week, Ethan's heart stopped, and all they could do was rub his hand and beg him not to die.
Justin Hartley
December 26, 2005
