A beachside dream home is on the market, and it comes with major Hollywood history. It belonged to the late Lee Phillip Bell, co-creator of The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

A gorgeous Malibu mansion once belonging to Lee Phillip Bell, the late co-creator of The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, came on the market this spring. The historic farmhouse-style home with ocean views is listed at $21.5 million.

Built in 1928, the house features period flourishes like Tudor arches mixed with modern, renovated touches like new appliances and super white walls and ceilings. The property also boasts lush gardens, a lagoon-style pool, and a steep set of stairs leading down to the Malibu Colony sand, where one may spot some of the famous neighbors -- Sting, Tom Hanks, or John McEnroe -- frolicking in the surf. Bell, who passed away in February, created The Lee Phillip Show before becoming a soap opera writer. She and her husband William J. Bell created The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

According to Variety, the successful couple amassed an enviable collection of trophy real estate that included a lavish compound in the mountains above Beverly Hills -- still owned by the Bell family; a historic estate in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; and at least one luxe residence in Aspen, Colorado.
