Y&R alum Scott Elrod makes his Grey's Anatomy debut

Don't forget to tune in to Grey's Anatomy to catch The Young and the Restless' Scott Elrod (ex-Joe Clark) make his debut.

The Young and the Restless' Scott Elrod (ex-Joe Clark) may have believed that his Genoa City alter ego was "never given a chance," but his exit from the soap gave him the chance to star in ABC's popular primetime drama Grey's Anatomy, which he will be doing starting March 10.

As previously reported, Elrod (who exited the role of Joe in December) will be appearing in at least four episodes of the nighttime series as military oncologist Dr. Will Thorpe. And he credits Y&R for helping him develop the chops he needed to land the role.

"I met some great people, and it was an enjoyable experience," he shares of his daytime gig. "Every job is a stepping stone to the next big job, and what Y&R did for me was give me a level of confidence I didn't have before taking the role."

As for what to expect from his first GA episode, titled All Eyez On Me, several of the series' cast members head to a military hospital to perform an extraordinary and extremely risky surgery on a veteran with an advanced tumor. Meanwhile, back at Grey Sloan, Andrew is tired of being Maggie's worst-kept secret; Ben makes an impulsive surgical decision; and a team of cheerleaders wreak havoc in the ER.

To catch Elrod as Dr. Thorpe, tune in to Grey's Anatomy tonight at 8PM on ABC.

UPDATE:
If you missed Elrod's debut, the episodes is now available online at ABC.co and on ABC On Demand.
